Sahur

HELLO

It's the first day of the fasting month and the first ones are always the hardest, right? So many challenges we have to face, like resisting to talk about someone you hate, and seeing food with your empty tummy, but you can't eat.

Like when I was in the supermarket....
Well, that's after all, one of the purposes of Ramadhan. To train us how to control our nafsu (lust). It's also so exciting, the fact that we're already in this month!! To add up to that Ramadhan spirit, my sister has been non-stop playing Ramadhan songs as she usually does every other years lol.

To my surprise, I woke up this morning for sahur without even feeling the slightest hint of doziness. Maybe I should sleep early more often. I woke up, brush my teeth, and jammed to some halal songs (Maher Zain will be on repeat this month lol). My siblings and I do not usually take heavy meals for sahur, so mummy prepared rice for herself and daddy and the Cambell's chicken soup for us.

It's been sort of a tradition, because for as long as I remember, this + hot milo have been my all time favorite sahur meal. The Cambell's chicken soup which we restock every time we visit home, always reminds me of Ramadhan and how I used to cry whenever I was woken up so early to have my pre-fasting meal. I like eating my soup with white bread that I squeeze into balls. I'd take out the crust from the bread and take the white part to make balls of them. It still tastes as good as ever *.*

When it was time to stop eating, I had to throw my self-made super tasty hot milo with extra condensed milk away. It was so heartbreaking to see it flow through the sink. I promise next time, I'll finish you okay, milo?

Thank you Ms Mel❤︎
